Wholistic Health Series - Session #3: How to Stay in the Green

On June 1, 2023, UHN’s RBCD clinic hosted the third session of the Wholistic Health Series with Certified Health Coach, Aisha Saintiche. This session explored how to take ownership of mental health and wellness.

5 Ways to Stay in the Green

Aisha discussed five actions that you can take to thrive

  1. Counselling as an Act of Self-Love! Counselling and emotional support can help you cope with emotions and provide relief from depression, anxiety, and stress.

  2. Food is Fuel. Learn about good foods you can eat to boost your mood

  3. Learn a new Skill. Developing new skills can increase confidence and a sense of mastery

  4. Create an Environment that Promotes Wellness. Changes to bring in sunlight, removing clutter, incorporating art and colour, and adding in plants, can promote health and wellbeing in your environment.

  5. Be mindful of Messaging Overload. While social media has many benefits, overload can cause negative impacts, including unrealistic expectations, fear of missing out, and isolation. It is important to have a balance in using social media

Personal Mission

A personal mission statement gives you a framework on how you want to live your life and express your life mission. These questions can guide you in creating a personal mission statement:

  • What do I want to achieve, do, or become?

  • Why is it what I want to achieve, do, or become important to me?

  • What specific action am I going to take to make this happen?
