The RBCD Hub is excited to partner with UHN’s Patient Education and Engagement to deliver a Health Talk on Sickle Cell Disease!

What is UHN Health Talks?

The UHN Health Talks is a free education program for patients, families, caregivers, staff, and community members. The goal of the Health Talks is to help patients and their families learn more about various health topics, community resources, and ways to manage their health or condition.

Who will be speaking?

This virtual presentation will feature:

  • Bethany Morris – a 30-year-old Early Childhood Educator living with Sickle Cell Disease

  • Colleen Johnson – a Nurse Practitioner in the Red Blood Cell Disorders Clinic

  • Sinthu Srikanthan – a Social worker in the Red Blood Cell Disorders Clinic

What will the Health Talks cover?

  • Lived Experience of Sickle Cell Disease

  • What is Sickle Cell Disease?

  • The Social Context of Sickle Cell Disease

  • Helpful Resources in Ontario

How can I participate?

You can send your questions to be answered by Bethany, Colleen, and Sinthu during the Health Talk on Slido (www.slido.com/UHNHealthTalk). Please send in your questions by Friday August 25th, 2023!

The Sickle Cell Disease Health Talk will be posted on Youtube and the RBCD Hub on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 1:00 PM.
